Location
Just 10 minutes from the centre of bustling Palma you can find yourself in a cosy studio villa with a view of the mountains and nothing to disturb you save for the occasional tinkle of goat bells and wind in the trees. This one-roomed garden house was recently created beside the home of a clever German interior designer. Named the Yellow House because of its distintinctive ochre-washed walls, its position provides for privacy (a partition exists between the two buildings) and its design allows light to flood in making it warm in winter but cool enough in summer. You can hole up here for days just reading in bed or lounging on the terrace.

Located on the outskirts of the village of Establiments, about 5 km northwest of Palma, it's well-placed for checking out the city's boutiques, art galleries, historical buildings and nightlife as well as exploring the island, walking and golf (the courses at Son Termens and Son Vida are 4km away).

Valldemossa's famous monastery, where Chopin spent a winter, is a 10-minute drive and the pretty mountain village of Deia is 20 minutes away. There are riding stables just down the road and beaches can be reached within 20 minutes. The owner has lived on the island for over 20 years and is happy to advise on walks and places of interest.

Description
Outside, yellow walls and painted shutters lend a Mexican feel. Inside, the style is typically Mallorquin - high wooden-beamed ceilings, terracotta-tiled floors and whitewashed walls - combined with some nice artistic touches: a carved headboard, contemporary paintings, kilims and an old writing desk. Crisp white bed-linen, a snug duvet and comfy sofa will make you want to curl up, while large French doors leading out to a sunny private terrace invite you to laze on the loungers and enjoy the views.

The small kitchenette has a 2-ring hob, sink, fridge, crockery and table for 2. There's no oven and cooking equipment is limited, so it's more suited to making snacks than gourmet dinners. But there is an outdoor barbeque to grill up more substantial meals.

The nearest supermarket is 3km away and Palma has some excellent food markets. Palma's fine restaurants, tapas bars and cafes are just a short drive away... and there'a a couple of good restaurants but just a brisk 1km walk away. For typical Mallorquin cooking and a lively atmosphere we recommend Can Pedro's in the village of Genova

Service
Included is weekly cleaning and departure cleaning (at guest´s option), change of bed-linen and towels.

Additional costs
Euro 50,- (about GBP 40,-) for final cleaning will be charged. Additional heating cost of Euro 30,- (about GBP 24,-) per week in wintertime will be charged.
